Short version

English Phrasebook — Offline collects nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking. The app does not even request the Android INTERNET permission, so it cannot send data anywhere, to us or to anyone else.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect, receive, store, sell or share any personal data.

We do not collect: your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP address, usage statistics or crash reports.

Permissions

The app declares no Android permissions at all. The INTERNET permission is deliberately removed from the app's manifest, so the app is technically incapable of making a network request. You can verify this on the app's Play Store listing under "App permissions", and the app works fully with your device in airplane mode.

Data stored on your device

The only thing the app saves is your list of favourite phrases, marked with the heart button. This list is written to the app's local storage on your own device. It never leaves your phone and we never see it.

You can delete it at any time by removing the phrases from your saved list, or by clearing the app's data in Android Settings, or by uninstalling the app.

Speech playback

When you tap "Listen" or "Slow", the app passes the phrase text to the text-to-speech engine already installed on your Android device. The audio is produced on your device. Depending on which speech engine you have installed and how you have configured it, that engine is governed by its own privacy policy — for example Google's Speech Services. We do not control that engine and we do not receive anything from it.

Third parties

The app contains no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, attribution or crash reporting. There are no ad networks. There is no payment processing, because the app is free and contains no purchases.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children. It complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Google Play Families policy by virtue of collecting nothing.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal data held about you. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to produce or erase. If you would like written confirmation of this, contact us and we will provide it.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes how it handles data, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change.
